Sex Coaching Video Series – Week 5: My Manifesto as your Sex Coach

Hi everyone, it’s Marie, your sex coach in training ! Welcome back 🙂

So today I want to share why I’ve chosen to train as a sex coach and what it means for me.

But first, here’s a question – can anyone call themselves a sex coach?

  • In a nutshell, yes
  • However, not everyone who calls themselves a sex coach is necessarily qualified
  • Sex coaching is its own profession but is not yet regulated
  • It’s therefore essential for sex coaches to get the right training and credentials in sexology to ensure that clients are being well-served to be guided toward sexual wellbeing
  • For me, it means equipping myself with the knowledge, tools and models available in sexology, in addition to my own personal life experiences
  • There are so many things I want and need to learn about, so I can hold a strong space with integrity for my clients, as a sexological clinician
  • This is why I’ve chosen to become a qualified and certified sex coach and train with the Sex Coach University, which offers a year-long master level program in applied clinical sexology
  • I expect this whole experience to be transformational as I will be pushing my boundaries and my own personal beliefs, values and attitudes towards sex
  • I’ll also be exploring who I am as a sexual being, so I can really expand and grow my knowledge as well as open my mind and heart to be present for my clients to guide them on their path towards sexual self-realization
  • I also believe that as a sex coach, part of my role, alongside guiding clients towards sexual self-fulfillment, is to advocate for sexual rights and sexual health. This is one of the fundamental reasons why I’ve decided to train as a sex coach
  • I believe that sexual rights and sexual health are universal human rights based on the inherent freedom, dignity and equality of all human beings. I want to be part of this movement to change the narrative to sex-positivity and I hope you do too.

That’s it for now, take care, stay tuned and see you soon
